Building Confidence in Your Kids with Scripture

Parents all want their children to grow up to be independent, intelligent, kind and caring.  Many of those characteristics stem from a child’s confidence and their own self-image.  When we are sure of who we are and who we belong to, we can’t help but have confidence.  A great place to start building confidence is to remind your child daily that they are a blessed and beloved child of God.  When your child is ready, direct them to the following Bible verses, which will deepen their faith, deepen their trust in God, and build their confidence that they are who God has created them to be.

Psalm 139:13-14 ICB – You made my whole being. You formed me in my mother’s body. I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well.

Proverbs 3:3-6 NLT – Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Hebrews 4:16 NIV – Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Jeremiah 17:7 NLT – But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.

Philippians 1:6 NIV – Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to
completion until the day of Christ

Philippians 4:13 NLT – For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Joshua 1:9 NLT – Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Psalm 27:1a NLT – The Lord is my light and my salvation – so why should I be afraid?

Ephesians 2:10 NLT – For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
